There is no set amount of time it may take you to learn guitar. People may start at different levels and may take more or less time to learn. Some may learn quicker than others, but that does not mean you get discouraged and stop learning. Anyone can be capable of learning the guitar but it will require a lot of hard work and hours of practice to achieve this goal. On average, if you want to get to an intermediate level, you would need to practice 2 to 4 hours daily to get there within 12 to 18 months. If you decide to become a master and learn everything about the guitar and practice the same hours it may take you over 10 years. As you can see, there is no set time, one must be dedicated and passionate about learning the guitar, and then anything is possible.
Learning Guitar as a Working Adult
Life as an adult can be very consuming, especially with meeting the needs of family, friends, and employers, one may begin to forget their own wants and needs. If you decide you want to learn guitar as an adult, you must be ready to make that commitment and be realistic on how you will get it done. It might require a longer time to learn than normal because you might not always have time to practice. You want to give yourself a timeline on when you want everything to be accomplished, but do not get discouraged if things do go as planned. As adults things always come up and may interfere with plans, but as long as you are moving forward and having fun, learning guitar can be possible for everyone.
